<i>Cryphaluspiceae</i> attacks various economically important conifers. Similar to other bark beetles, <i>Cr.piceae</i> plays a role as a vector for an assortment of fungi and nematodes. Previously, several ophiostomatoid fungi were isolated from <i>Cr.piceae</i> in Poland and Japan.
