<i>PINK1</i>, also known as <i>PARK6</i>, is a <i>PTEN</i>-induced putative kinase 1 that is encoded by nuclear genes. PINK1 is ubiquitously expressed and regulates mitochondrial function and mitophagy in a range of cell types.
