Bioengineered angiotensin-converting-enzyme-2: a potential therapeutic option against SARS-CoV-2 infection.

ABSTRACT: The recombinant soluble human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (rshACE2) is a promising therapy against SARS-CoV-2 infection, but it has some drawbacks that reduce the success of its clinical applications. The bioengineered ACE2 (Tag-sACE2 and probiotic-ACE2) as a way may overcome its therapeutic limitations against ongoing current pandemic.
