Streptococcal peptide of virulence (SpoV) is a <i>Streptococcus pyogenes</i> (group A streptococcus (GAS))-specific peptide that is important for GAS survival in murine blood, and the expression of the virulence factors streptolysin O (<i>slo</i>) and streptolysin S (<i>sagA</i>).
