Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) is the most severe form of leishmaniasis caused by protozoan parasites of the genus <i>Leishmania</i>. Hepatomegaly is one of the most frequent clinical manifestations of VL, whereas immunopathology of the symptom has not been well investigated.
