Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is the risk factors for nasopharyngeal carcinoma and cervical carcinoma, respectively. However, clinical analyses demonstrate that EBV or HPV is associated with improved response of patients, although underlying mechanism remains unclear.
