<b>Introduction:</b> Fragile X syndrome (FXS) is a genetic disorder caused by a mutation of the <i>fragile X mental retardation 1 gene</i> (<i>FMR1</i>). FXS is associated with neurophysiological abnormalities, including cortical hyperexcitability.
