Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is an aggressive genitourinary malignancy which has been associated with a poor prognosis, particularly in patients with metastasis, its major subtypes being clear cell RCC (ccRCC), papillary PCC (pRCC) and chromophobe RCC (chRCC).
