Voles are maintenance hosts of <i>Mycobacterium microti</i>. In line with the goal to eradicate tuberculosis (TB) in livestock, the role of this mycobacteria needs to be assessed since it might interfere with current <i>M. bovis</i>/<i>M. caprae</i> surveillance strategies.
