Antibiotic resistance is a challenge for the control of bacterial infections. In an effort to explore unconventional avenues for antibacterial drug development, we focused on the FMN-transferase activity of the enzyme Ftp from the syphilis spirochete, Treponema pallidum (Ftp_Tp).
