Consolidation using high-dose chemotherapy with autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) is an important component of frontline therapy for children with high-risk neuroblastoma. The optimal preparative regimen is uncertain, although recent data support a role for busulfan/melphalan (BuMel).
