µ-Opioid peptide receptor (MOPR) stimulation alters respiration, analgesia and reward behaviour, and can induce substance abuse and overdose<sup>1-3</sup>. Despite its evident importance, the endogenous mechanisms for MOPR regulation of consummatory behaviour have remained unknown<sup>4</sup>.
