<i>Rubus ellipticus</i> Sm. var. <i>obcordatus</i> Focke is an important species in the phylogeny and evolution of genus <i>Rubus</i> L. in the family Rosaceae. Its chloroplast genome, as reported in this study, is 155,656 bp in size, and it has an average GC content of 37.14%.
