Pulmonary vasodilator therapy in persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn.

ABSTRACT: A review of the physiology of persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn is provided, followed by a critical review of many of the agents that have been employed to treat this condition. In addition, the authors speculate on what type of pharmacologic therapy may prove useful in the future.
