Increasing evidences indicate that unlimited capacity for self-renewal and pluripotency, two unique properties of embryonic stem cells (ESCs), are intrinsically linked to cell cycle control. However, the precise mechanisms coordinating cell fate decisions and cell cycle regulation remain to be fully explored.
