[Care of vascular surgery patients during COVID-19: a Germany-wide survey].

ABSTRACT:

Background

COVID-19 resulted in postponement and cancellation of elective operations in all surgical disciplines worldwide, especially in the first weeks of the pandemic. The specific situation in vascular surgery clinics in Germany during this period has not yet been described.

Objective

The purpose of the survey was to record the provision of vascular surgery services in the period from March 2020 to December 2020 as well as logistical and infrastructural changes that resulted from the pandemic situation. The focus of the survey was on mapping the supply situation as realistically as possible based on the assessment of the lead vascular surgeons.
