ABSTRACT: Four Pseudomonas spp. and Xanthomonas arboricola were isolated from cranberry stem galls in Carver, MA, and taxonomically assigned at the genus level based on the 16S rRNA sequence and phenotypes. X. arboricola had not been associated previously with cranberry stem galls or any cranberry disease.

Here, we present the draft genome sequences of five Pseudomonas spp. isolated from cultivated cranberry fruit surfaces. Although the isolates represent four different species, their genomes all contain conserved iron sequestration and uptake genes.

Project description:Pseudomonas sp. strains MWU13-2100 and MWU13-2105 were isolated from a wild cranberry bog with Pipestone loamy coarse sand soil in Truro, Massachusetts, and taxonomically assigned based on whole-genome sequences. The draft genomes are most closely related to P. batumici (41.4% and 41.8% dDDHd4), but with only 50.8 dDDHd4 to each other.

Project description:Pseudomonas sp. strains MWU12-2029, MWU12-3088, and MWU12-3091 were isolated from wild and cultivated cranberry bog soils in southeastern Massachusetts. The three isolates are closely related to Pseudomonas kribbensis, a not validly published member of the P. fluorescens group, and contain three putative insecticidal protein genes, including the toxin complex A gene (tcaC).

In an effort to better understand the microbes that come in contact with native bee pollinators, we isolated and sequenced four additional strains of Saccharibacter from native bees in the genera Melissodes and Anthophora These genomes range in size from 2,104,494 to 2,316,791 bp (mean, 2,246,664 bp) and contain between 1,860 and 2,167 (mean, 2,060) protein-coding genes.

Draft Genome Sequences of Pseudomonas sp. Strains Isolated from Wheat in Germany.

Project description:Three chloramphenicol-resistant Pseudomonas sp. strains were isolated from wheat grain in Germany on rose Bengal agar. The draft genome sizes ranged from 5,924,931 to 6,124,470 bp. All the isolates possessed genes for efflux pumps that might be responsible for an intrinsic chloramphenicol resistance. No acquired antibiotic resistance genes in these strains could be determined.
