G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) conserve common structural folds and activation mechanisms, yet their ligand spectra and functions are highly diverse. This work investigated how the amino-acid sequences of olfactory receptors (ORs)-the largest GPCR family-encode diversified responses to various ligands.
