Bacteriophages (phages) of the genus <i>Kayvirus</i> of <i>Staphylococcus aureus</i> are promising agents for therapeutic applications. In this study, we isolated <i>Kayvirus</i> phages, SAM1 and SAM2, from the <i>Fersisi</i> commercial phage cocktail (George Eliava Institute, Tbilisi, Georgia), which exhibits high sequence homology with phage K (≥94%, BLASTn).
