The role of lysine methyltransferases (KMTs) and demethylases (KDMs) in the regulation of chromatin modification is well-established. Recently, deleterious heterozygous variants in <i>KMT5B</i> were implicated in individuals with intellectual disability (ID) and/or autism spectrum disorder.
