Two-arm parallel group randomized controlled trial was performed at the Orthodontics Unit of Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia. Sixteen patients with severe anterior maxillary crowding (Little's irregularity index: 7-9 mm) and required bilateral first premolars extraction was recruited.
