ABSTRACT: Two luminescent 3D supramolecular structures [Cd3(L)2(2,2-bipy)2](DMF)3(CH3CH2OH)2(H2O) (1) and [Zn3(L)2(2,2-bipy)2(DMF)2](DMF)2(CH3CH2OH)2(H2O) (2) (H3L = 4,4',4''-nitrilotribenzoic acid) have been successfully synthesized under solvothermal conditions using Cd(NO3)2·4H2O or Zn(NO3)2·6H2O as the metal sources, and 4,4',4''-nitrilotribenzoic acid (H3L), 2,2-bipy as the ligands in DMF solvent.
