Liquid organic hydrides are regarded as promising for use as hydrogen carriers <i>via</i> the methylcyclohexane (MCH)-toluene-hydrogen cycle. Because of the endothermic nature of MCH dehydrogenation, the reaction is usually conducted at temperatures higher than 623 K.
