Herein, silica nanoparticles were synthesized and chemically modified with iminodiacetic acid (IDA) and Ni<sup>2+</sup> ions surrounded by a bis-acrylamide polymeric shell to obtain a new core-shell immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC) based material.
