ABSTRACT: The thermally and photolytically induced disproportionation of 6,13-dihydropentacene derivatives into tetrahydropentacenes and pentacenes results in unique solid-state fluorescence. The fluorescence thereby depends on the molecular structure and the molecular arrangement in the solid state.
