M-commerce adoption among youths in Malaysia: Dataset article.

ABSTRACT: The covid-19 pandemic which took the world by storm changed our behaviour towards m-commerce with enforced movement restrictions across the world. This dataset documents the factors of consideration among Malaysian youths (age 15 to 24 years old) in their intention to adopt m-commerce. Collected from October to November 2020, a total of 396 useable responses were finalized. The questionnaire consists of individual demographic variables and factors which influence the intention of youths to adopt m-commerce in Malaysia. The dataset of demographics and m-commerce related variables can be used to further explore the correlations and description of variables. The dataset is valuable for m-commerce service providers and future works of literature in understanding the behaviour of youths and hence increase the adoption rate of m-commerce among youths.

Project description:The dataset describes the survey data on current adoption practices, readiness and willingness amongst woman fish vendors (WFVs) towards the adoption of m-commerce in Coastal Karnataka region, India. The coastal Karnataka belt houses three districts viz. Udupi, Uttara Kannada and Dakshina Kannada. Primary data is retrieved from 383 WFVs who serve 26 markets in the districts mentioned above. The dataset comprises of demographic details of the respondents like age, education, per-day sales etc. and specific responses to the items measuring their current adoption practices, as well as readiness and willingness to use m-commerce in their day to day business activities. Availability of this data will help researchers, policy makers and social entrepreneurs to determine optimal strategies towards efficient adoption of m-commerce models amongst small vendors in similar emerging markets thereby increasing their income levels.

Exploring the Relationship Between Visual Aesthetics and Social Commerce Through Visual Information Adoption Unimodel.

Project description:The visual revolution and attention economy of the digital world have put visual aesthetic communication into the primary position of social media marketing. However, this phenomenon remains underexplored within social commerce research. This study thus develops a visual information adoption unimodel (VIAUM), to explore the relationship between visual aesthetics and social commerce intentions. Users with social commerce experience are invited to complete our online survey, and 321 valid data are collected. The results reveal that visual aesthetics has direct and indirect (via perceived usefulness) effects on the social commerce intention of users. Besides, interdependent self-construal (InterSC) strengthens the direct effect between visual aesthetics and social commerce intention. In contrast, independent self-construal weakens the mediation effects of perceived usefulness. This study is among the first attempts to empirically examine the intervening mechanism and boundary conditions between the visual aesthetics of self-presentation of micro-celebrity and the social commerce intention of consumers.

Factors affecting adoption and use of M-commerce services among the customers in Saudi Arabia.

Project description:M-commerce has the potential to change consumers' shopping habits and establish itself as a significant commerce channel. People rely on digital devices more than ever before, and the growth in M-commerce predicts that mobile will become the preferred channel for online shopping soon. This study is aimed at examining the effect of personal factors, economic factors, ease of doing factors, and safety-related factors due to Covid-19 on the adoption and use of M-commerce services among customers in Saudi Arabia. The study is empirical and is based on survey responses from 340, M-commerce customers in Saudi Arabia. The questionnaire method was used to collect the data. ANOVA and bivariate regression analysis were used to evaluate the collected data. The results showed that four independent variables, namely, personal, economic, ease of doing, and safety factors during the Covid-19 pandemic, are significant predictors of the dependent variable, adoption and use of M-commerce services by the customers. These factors influence customers' purchasing decisions when they use M-commerce services. The study also concluded that the frequency of using M-commerce has increased during the Covid-19 pandemic because of health, safety, and social distancing guidelines. One of the main limitation of the study is the few selective constructs for the research. The finding of the study will be beneficial to the customers to understand the significance of M-commerce services, especially during pandemic situations.

Antecedents of civil engineering students' entrepreneurial intentions: Dataset article.

Project description:The Kingdom of Morocco has implemented significant reform projects over the past decade to promote youth entrepreneurship. In light of these efforts, it is essential to examine the antecedents of entrepreneurial intentions among students. To this end, the current data article aims to explore the antecedents of civil engineering students' entrepreneurial intentions. Thus, we collected data from civil engineering students using a self-administered questionnaire through Google Forms. We employed the partial least squares structural equation modeling (SEM) to analyze the collected dataset. The data analysis using SmartPLS software showed that entrepreneurial attitude, entrepreneurial capacity, and subjective norms positively and significantly affect the civil engineering students' entrepreneurial intention. The insights from this study can be used by Moroccan higher education institutions (HEI) managers to identify crucial elements that can improve students' inclination towards entrepreneurship.

A comprehensive dataset for sentiment and emotion classification from Bangladesh e-commerce reviews.

Project description:In the rapidly evolving domain of e-commerce, analyzing customer feedback through reviews is crucial, particularly for understanding and enhancing consumer experience in the Bangladeshi market. Our comprehensive dataset, derived from two Bangladeshi e-commerce platforms, Daraz and Pickaboo, features a diverse collection of reviews in both Bengali and English, covering a broad range of products. These reviews are not only rich in linguistic variety but also encapsulate a spectrum of emotions, some even conveyed through emojis, offering a deep dive into consumer sentiment. Expert annotators have meticulously examined and categorized each review, classifying emotions into five distinct types - Happiness, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Love - and sentiments into Positive (Happiness, Love) and Negative (Sadness, Anger, Fear) categories. This level of detailed annotation enables precise assessments of customer emotions and preferences, which are essential for evaluating and improving existing product offerings. Moreover, the insights gleaned from this dataset are invaluable for guiding future product development and uncovering new opportunities in the dynamic Bangladeshi market. Ultimately, this dataset not only serves as a significant resource for sentiment analysis using natural language processing (NLP) techniques but also contributes valuable insights into the unique consumer behavior patterns in Bangladesh, enriching the NLP community's understanding of diverse market dynamics.

Dataset of driving behaviours in Selangor, Malaysia.

Project description:Road traffic accidents have been recognised as a leading cause of death, and one of the prominent public health problems. The human factor, which is the driving behaviour in particular, is said to be the main cause. In line with this, the objective of this research is to present a data article on the response of driving behaviours among drivers. Driving behaviours have been classified into five dimensions, which are speeding, improper overtaking, mobile phone use while driving, tail-gating and disobeying traffic lights. A quantitative study was conducted with a sample size of 160 drivers consisting of residents in a suburban of Selangor, Malaysia. A stratified random sampling method was adopted to identify the respondents. Data analysis was presented in the form of descriptive statistics and tables. The findings show that the majority of respondents agreed that they have driving behaviours that involve improper overtaking, tail-gating and disobeying traffic lights.

Exploring the mass adoption potential of wearable fitness devices in Malaysia.

Project description:ObjectiveThe current study explores the formation of an intention to use wearable fitness devices (WFDs) with wearable fitness attributes and health consciousness (HCS). Moreover, the research examines the use of WFDs with the health motivation (HMT) and intention to use WFDs. The study also exposes the moderating effect of HMT between the intention to use WFDs and the use of WFDs.MethodsFive hundred and twenty-five adults participated in the current study, and data were collected from January 2021 to March 2021 through the online survey of Malaysian respondents. The cross-sectional data was analyzed using the second-generation statistical method of partial least square structural equation modeling.ResultsHCS is insignificantly associated with the intention to use WFDs. Perceived compatibility, perceived product value, perceived usefulness, and perceived technology accuracy significantly influence the intention to use WFDs. HMT significantly impacts the adoption of WFDs; however, the intention to use WFDs negatively but significantly influences the use of WFDs. Lastly, the association between the intention to use WFDs and the adoption of WFDs is significantly moderated by HMT.ConclusionsOur study findings illuminate the significant impact of technology-level attributes of WFDs on the intention to use WFDs. However, an insignificant impact of HCS on the intention to use WFDs was reported. Our result confirms that HMT plays a significant role in the use of WFDs. Such as the moderating role of HMT is vital to transform the intention to use WFDs into the adoption of WFDs.

Dataset for the electronic customer relationship management based on S-O-R model in electronic commerce.

Project description:Customer loyalty is difficult to establish because of the danger of online transactions, which causes risk in all transaction procedures. The dataset presents the survey data including three factors as electronic loyalty, perceived mental benefits, hedonic value. The quantitative data is based on 485 participants who bought from e-commerce websites. SmartPLS 3.7 software analyzed the survey collected data in three stages: measurement model evaluation (scale reliability and scale validity); structural model assessment (collinearity issues, the significance and relevance of the structural model relationships, coefficient of determination, effect size, and predictive relevance); and mediator analysis. Aside from confirming the Stimulus - Organism - Response (SOR) model in the relationships between perceived mental benefits, hedonic value, and electronic loyalty; moreover, this data revealed that hedonic value had a mediating effect on the relationship between electronic loyalty and perceived mental benefits in the electronic customer relationship management.

Mangrove floristic composition dataset of the Setiu Lagoon, Terengganu Malaysia.

Project description:This article documents the composition of plant species collected from the mangrove forest of the Setiu Lagoon, Terengganu. The data was collated between 2004 and 2019 through fieldwork to compile an inventory of mangrove flora on 13 islands located in the Setiu Lagoon. Field inventories using circular sample plots of 5.6 m radius and square plots of 100 m × 20 m were employed in the study. In each plot, the mangrove plant species were enumerated and identified. A total of 74 species belonging to 39 families were recorded, comprising of 23 exclusive, 49 non-exclusive and 2 associate mangrove species. Pulau Telaga Tujuh supported the most diverse mangrove with 47 species in contrast to Pulau Tok Ba and Pulau Gemia that supported the least number of mangroves with only 10 species recorded each. The Lagoon is also a home to critically endangered species, Olax psittacorum (Lam) Vahl and an interesting species, Hydnophytum formicarum Jack (an ant plant, the mangroves epiphyte). Overall, islands of the Setiu Lagoon supported a mix of mangrove plant species which were exclusive and non-exclusive. The present work provides important baseline data for management, conservation and restoration of mangrove forest in the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Various mangrove plant species including the presence of hybrid species underlines the importance of the Setiu Lagoon as a center of mangrove plant diversity, particularly in the Southeast Asia region.
