Human African trypanosomiasis (HAT) is a neglected tropical disease caused by the parasite <i>Trypanosoma brucei</i> (<i>T.b</i>.). A validated target for the treatment of HAT is the parasitic <i>T.b.</i> cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase B1 (TbrPDEB1).
