Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) influence multiple aspects of host brain function via the production of active metabolites in the gut, which is known as the pre/probiotic action. However, little is known about the biogenic effects of LAB on host brain function. Here, we reported that the <i>Lactobacillus plantarum</i> SBT2227 promoted sleep in <i>Drosophila melanogaster</i>.
