<i>Tetratrichomonas gallinarum</i> and <i>Trichomonas gallinae</i> are pathogenic avian parasites that infect a wide range of bird species. The pathologic potential of <i>T. gallinarum</i> is controversial, whereas <i>T. gallinae</i> causes disease in many avian species.
