<i>Pleurotus giganteus</i> (Berk.) Karunarathna & K.D. Hyde 2011 is one of the largest edible mushrooms integrating medicinal value and edible value. The complete mitochondrial genome of the edible fungus <i>P. giganteus</i> was published in this paper. It was determined using Pacbio and Illumina sequencing.
