Ten Nearly Complete Genome Sequences of Human Orthorubulavirus 4 Isolated from Pediatric Inpatients in Fukushima, Japan.

ABSTRACT: We report 10 nearly complete genomic sequences of human orthorubulavirus 4, also called human parainfluenza virus 4 (HPIV4), isolated from pediatric inpatients with respiratory infections in Fukushima, Japan, by using an air-liquid interface culture of human bronchial and tracheal epithelial cells.

Complete genome sequences of Sathuperi and Shamonda viruses isolated in Japan.

Project description:Sathuperi virus (SATV) and Shamonda virus (SHAV) (family Peribunyaviridae, genus Orthobunyavirus, species Schmallenberg orthobunyavirus) have been suggested to cause congenital abnormalities in ruminants. In this study, we determined the complete genome sequences of SATV KSB-6/C/02 and SHAV KSB-2/C/08 strains, which were obtained from Culicoides biting midges in Japan, by next-generation sequencing and Sanger sequencing. The 3'- and 5'-untranslated region sequences of the M segment of SHAV KSB-2/C/08 strains are distinctly different from those of SATV KSB-6/C/02 and Schmallenberg viruses. This study provides the genome characterization of Japanese strains of SATV and SHAV and presented the genetic variation in the untranslated regions of Schmallenberg orthobunyavirus M segments.

Complete Genome Sequences of Ralstonia solanacearum Strains Isolated from Zingiberaceae Plants in Japan.

Project description:Here, we report the complete genome sequences of three Ralstonia solanacearum strains isolated from Zingiberaceae plants in Japan. The total genome sizes of these strains ranged from 5.87 to 6.05?Mb. Strains MAFF 211472, MAFF 211479, and MAFF 311693 each carried one chromosome and one megaplasmid. MAFF 311693 contained an additional 71.9-kb plasmid.

Project description:In this study, we report the nearly complete genome sequences of one enterovirus 96 (EV-C96) isolate (strain 3499/BRA-PA/2010) and two enterovirus 99 (EV-C99) isolates (strains 3291/BRA-PA/2010 and 3944/BRA-PA/2011). The genetic characterization of different enterovirus strains allows for a better understanding of their molecular epidemiology and viral evolution.

Complete Genome Sequences of Four <i>Parageobacillus</i> Strains Isolated from Soil in Japan.

Project description:We isolated four Parageobacillus strains from soil in Japan and completely sequenced their genomes. Three of four strains showed ≥98.9% average nucleotide identity (ANI) to Parageobacillus caldoxylosilyticus S1812T, while one strain, designated KH3-4, showed the highest ANI (91%) to Parageobacillus thermantarcticus M1T, suggesting the species novelty of KH3-4.

Complete Genome Sequences of Two Strains of Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris Isolated in Japan.

Project description:Here, we report the complete genome sequences of two strains of Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris (MAFF106712 and MAFF302021), which cause black rot in crucifer crops, isolated from Chinese cabbage and cauliflower, respectively, in Japan. The MAFF106712 chromosome was 5,002,720 bp, with a G+C content of 65.2%, and harbored one plasmid of 78,747 bp. The MAFF302021 chromosome was 5,048,651 bp, with a G+C content of 65.1%.
