The dynamic behaviors of aniline cation (ANI<sup>+</sup>) intercalating into graphite interlayers are systematically studied by experimental studies and multiscale simulations. The in situ intercalation polymerization designed by response surface methods implies the importance of ultrasonication for achieving the intercalation of ANI<sup>+</sup>.
