Novel features of coenzyme A (CoA) and its precursor, 3'-dephospho-CoA (dpCoA), recently became evident. dpCoA was found to attach to 5'-ends of small ribonucleic acids (dpCoA-RNAs) in two bacterial species (<i>Escherichia coli</i> and <i>Streptomyces venezuelae</i>).
