Although considered to be exact copies of each other, sister chromatids can segregate nonrandomly in some cases. For example, sister chromatids of the X and Y chromosomes segregate nonrandomly during asymmetric division of male germline stem cells (GSCs) in <i>Drosophila melanogaster</i>.
