UDP-<i>N</i>-acetylglucosamine pyrophosphorylase (UAP) is a key enzyme in the chitin biosynthesis pathway of insects. Here, we described the gene <i>SfUAP</i> in the white-backed planthopper <i>Sogatella furcifera</i> (Horváth) with an open reading frame of 1470 bp.
