Preoperative Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio for predicting surgery-related acute kidney injury in non-cardiac surgery patients under general anaesthesia: A retrospective cohort study.

ABSTRACT:

Background

This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between the Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) and the incidence of surgery-related acute kidney injury (AKI) in non-cardiac surgery patients under general anaesthesia.

Methods

In this retrospective study, 5057 patients from Third Xiangya hospital from January 2012 to December 2016 and 1686 patients from Second Xiangya hospital from January 2016 to December 2016 for non-cardiac surgery under general anesthesia were included. According to receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve constructed by NLR for postoperative AKI, the cut-off point was obtained as the basis for grouping low or high NLR. The baseline characteristics of two sets were compared with each other. A multi-factor model was constructed by Le
