Crystal structure of 8-hex-yloxy-2-[(Z)-2-(naph-thal-en-2-yl)ethen-yl]quinoline.

ABSTRACT: In the title mol-ecule, C₂₇H₂₇NO, the naphthalene and quinoline groups are both planar and subtend a dihedral angle of 15.47 (7)°. They are nearly coplanar with the cis-vinyl bridge and the hex-yloxy chain, which adopts an all-trans conformation, resulting in transannular bifurcated intra-molecular C-H⋯N,O contact. The crystal structure features γ-packing of the aromatic moieties, while the parallel packing of alkyl chains resembles that of alkanes.

Project description:The crystal structure of the natural product zeylenone, C21H18O7, was confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structure has three chiral centers at positions C1, C5 and C6 of the cyclo-hexa-none ring, but the absolute configuration could not be determined reliably. The methyl benzoate and benzo-yloxy substituents at positions C1 and C5 of the cyclo-hexenone ring are on the same side of the ring with the dihedral angle between their mean planes being 16.25 (10)°. These rings are almost perpendicular to the cyclo-hexenone ring. The benzoate groups and two hydroxyl groups on the cyclo-hexenone ring form strong hydrogen bonds to consolidate the crystal structure. In addition, weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds also contribute to the packing of the structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C10H14N2O3, contains two independent mol-ecules with similar conformations. In the both mol-ecules, the cyclo-hexene rings adopt the same envelope conformation with the flap C atoms lying 0.658 (3) and 0.668 (3) Å from the mean planes formed by the remaining atoms. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are connected via N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H⋯O inter-actions, forming supra-molecular layers parallel to (-101).

In the crystal, O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the benzohydrazide and water mol-ecules, forming a layer parallel to the bc plane. Hirshfeld surface analysis and two-dimensional fingerprint plots indicate that the most important contributions to the crystal packing are from H⋯H (45.7%) and H⋯C/C⋯H (20.2%) contacts.

Project description:The title compound, C(26)H(18), consists of a benzene ring with meta-substituted 2-naphthalene substituents, which are essentially planar [r.m.s. deviations = 0.022 (1) and 0.003 (1) Å]. Project description:The reaction of 2-(1,2,3,4-tetra-hydro-napthalen-1-yl-idene)hydrazinecarbo-thio-amide (TTSC) with pyrazine-2,3,5,6-tetra-carbo-nitrile (tetra-cyano-pyrazine, TCNP) yields the title 2:1 charge-transfer adduct, 2C11H12N3S·C6N8. The complete TCNP mol-ecule is generated by a crystallographic inversion centre and the non-aromatic ring in the TTSC mol-ecule adopts an envelope conformation with a methyl-ene C atom as the flap. In the crystal, the thio-semicarbazone mol-ecules are connected through inversion-related pairs of N-H⋯S inter-actions, building a polymeric chain along the b-axis direction. The TCNP mol-ecules are embedded in the structure, forming TTSC-TCNP-TTSC stacks with the aromatic rings of TTSC and the mol-ecular plane of TCNP in a parallel arrangement [centroid-centroid distance = 3.5558 (14) Å]. Charge-transfer (CT) via π-stacking is indicated by a CT band around 550 cm(-1) in the single-crystal absorption spectrum.

Crystal structure of 11-[4-(hex-yloxy)phen-yl]-1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-a][1,10]phenanthroline.

Project description:The title compound, C25H24N4O, was prepared from 2-chloro-phenanthroline and hexyl-oxyphenyl-tetra-zole. The main difference between the two independent mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit is the orientation of the all-anti-configured hex-yloxy chain: in A the C-O-C-C torsion angle is 175.9 (2)° whereas it is -88.3 (3)° in B. The benzene substitution in the bay of the triazolophenanthroline results in a helical distorsion of the heterocyclic core, the dihedral angles between the mean planes formed by quinoline and benzotriazole ring systems are 13.73 (9) for mol-ecule A and 14.87 (8)° for B. The dihedral angles between the triazole ring and the attached benzene ring are 45.87 (15) in A and 53.93 (14)° in B. The angular annulation of four rings and the benzene substituent results in a helical distortion of the aromatic framework. The crystal is formed from layers composed of centrosymmetric pairs of A 2, B 2 mol-ecules with inter-digitating alkyl chains.

In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming ribbons propagating along [1-10].
