Tetra-μ-acetato-κ⁸ O:O'-bis-[(3-chloro-pyridine-κN)ruthenium(II,III)](Ru-Ru) hexa-fluorido-phosphate 1,2-di-chloro-ethane monosolvate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Ru₂(μ-O₂CCH₃)₄(C₅H₄ClN)₂]PF₆·C₂H₄Cl₂, was obtained via a rapid substitution reaction of 3-chloro-pyridine for water in [Ru₂(μ-O₂CCH₃)₄(H₂O)₂]PF₆ in 2-propanol and subsequent crystallization from a di-chloro-ethane solution. The cationic diruthenium(II,III) tetra-acetate core lies on a crystallographic inversion center with Ru-Ru and Ru-N bond lengths of 2.2738 (3) and 2.2920 (17) Å, respectively. The Ru-Ru-N bond angle is close to linear at 176.48 (4)°, and a significant π-stacking inter-action of 3.5649 (16) Å is seen between overlapping pyridine rings of adjacent cations.

Project description:The title compound, [Ru(2)(CH(3)CO(2))(4)(C(6)H(4)N(2))(2)]PF(6)·C(2)H(4)Cl(2), was obtained via a rapid substitution reaction in 2-propanol whereby 3-cyano-pyridine replaces the axial water mol-ecules in the diaquatetra-μ-acetato-diruthenium(II,III) hexa-fluorido-phosphate starting material. The product rapidly precipated and crystals were grown from 1,2-dichloro-ethane. The 1,2-dichloro-ethane mol-ecule of solvation exhibits disorder with two different orientations [occupancy ratio 0.51 (6):0.49 (6)]. All three parts, the cation, the anion and the disordered solvent mol-ecule lie on crystallographic inversion centers. The Ru-Ru bond length of 2.2702 (6) Å fits nicely into the range seen for similar complexes and correlates well with the reduction potential of the complex and donor strength of the axial ligand, 3-cyano-pyridine, as postulated in a previous study [Vamvounis et al. (2000 ▶). Inorg. Chim. Acta, 305, 87-98]. The 3-cyano-pyridine ligands orient themselves in an anti configuration with respect to each other and the Ru-Ru-N angle [174.27 (7)°] is close to being linear.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Re(C12H8N2)(C12H12N2)(CO)3]PF6.·CH3CN, contains one cation, one hexa-fluorido-phosphate anion and one aceto-nitrile solvent mol-ecule. The Re(I) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and one N atom from the 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)ethane ligand [mean Re-N = 2.191 (15) Å] and by three carbonyl ligands [mean Re-C = 1.926 (3) Å] in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The electrostatic forces and weak C-H⋯F(O) hydrogen bonds pack cations and anions into the crystal with voids of 82 Å(3), which are filled by solvent mol-ecules. The crystal packing exhibits short inter-molecular O⋯O distance of 2.795 (5) Å between two cations related by inversion.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(14)H(12)N(2))(3)](PF(6))(2)·CH(3)CN, the [Cu(5,6-dmp)(3)](2+) cationic complex (5,6-dmp is 5,6-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline) is stabilized by two hexa-fluorido-phosphate anions and one acetonitrile solvent mol-ecule. The coordination geometry around the Cu(II) atom can be described as distorted elongated octa-hedral with R(out) = 2.277 (2) Å, R(in) = 2.052 (2) Å and a tetra-gonality of 0.9011, acquiring a 'static' stereochemistry. In the supra-molecular network, there are inter-molecular C-H⋯F and C-H⋯N inter-actions with R(3) (3)(16), R(2) (2)(7), R(1) (2)(4), R(3) (3)(16) and C(3) (2)(7) motifs that lead to an infinite three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the crystal of the title compound, [Ru(C(2)H(6)NS)(C(26)H(24)P(2))(2)]PF(6), the Ru(II) atom is in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry, coordinated by one 2-amino-ethane-thiol-ate (aet) and two 1,2-bis-(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)ethane (dppe) ligands. The crystal consists of a pair of enanti-omers (Δ and Λ) of the compound. The Δ and Λ isomers have the λ and δ conformations for the aet chelate rings and the δ and λ conformations for the dppe chelate rings. The F atoms of the PF(6) (-) counter-anion are disordered over three positions, with site occupancies of 0.4, 0.3 and 0.3.

Project description:The title compound, [Sn6(C4H9)6(CH3COO)6O6]·C7H8, has one half-toluene mol-ecule and one half-organotin mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The latter is situated about an inversion centre and belongs to the class of hexa-meric monoorganooxo-tin carboxyl-ates with a hexa-gonal prismatic or 'drum-like' motif of the central tin-oxygen core. Two Sn3O3 rings in a flat-chair conformation are linked via six Sn-O bonds and six bridging acetate groups. All Sn atoms have approximate octa-hedral coordination geometry. The Sn-O bonds which are trans to the alkyl group are significantly shorter than the others. One butyl group is disordered over two different sites, with occupancies of 0.9:0.1. Very large atomic displacement parameters of the toluene mol-ecule indicate an unresolvable disorder about the twofold axis.

Project description:The solvated title salt, [Ir(C9H7N2)2(C8H6N2)]PF6·CH2Cl2, was obtained from the reaction between 1,8-naphthyridine (NAP) and an orthometalated iridium(III) precursor containing a 1-phenyl-pyrazole (ppz) ligand. The asymmetric unit comprises one [Ir(ppz)2(NAP)]+ cation, one PF6 - counter-ion and one CH2Cl2 solvent mol-ecule. The central IrIII atom of the [Ir(ppz)2(NAP)]+ cation is distorted-octa-hedrally coordinated by four N atoms and two C atoms, whereby two N atoms stem from the NAP ligand while the ppz ligands ligate through one N and one C atom each. In the crystal, the [Ir(ppz)2(NAP)]+ cations and PF6 - counter-ions are connected with each other through weak inter-molecular C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds. Together with an additional C-H⋯F inter-action involving the solvent mol-ecule, a three-dimensional network structure is formed.

Project description:The Ru(II) atom in the title compound, [RuCl(2)(C(12)H(18))(C(9)H(12)ClN(3)O)]·CHCl(3), exhibits a typical piano-stool coordination, defined by a hexa-methyl-benzene ligand, two chloride ligands and a pyridyl-urea ligand coordinated through the pyridine N atom. In the crystal, a dimeric structure is observed due to two strong N-H⋯Cl inter-actions between the NH groups of urea and the two chloride ligands of neighbouring mol-ecules. In addition, the C=O group of the urea moiety inter-acts with the solvent mol-ecule through weak C-H⋯O interactions.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ru(C10H10N6)(C7H10N2)3](PF6)2·C4H10O, the Ru(II) cation is coordinated by one tris-(1-pyrazol-yl)methane (Tpm) and three dimethylaminopyridine (dmap) ligands in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The asymmetric unit consists of one complex cation, two hexa-fluorido-phosphate anions and one diethyl ether solvent mol-ecule in general positions. Although quite a large number of ruthenium complexes of the facially coordinating tridentate Tpm ligand have been structurally characterized, this is only the second one containing three pyridyl co-ligands. The average Ru-N(Tpm) distance is 2.059 (12) Å, while the average Ru-N(dmap) [dmap = 4-(di-methyl-amino)-pyridine] distance is somewhat longer at 2.108 (13) Å. The orientation of the dmap ligands varies greatly, with dihedral angles between the pyridyl and opposite pyrazolyl rings of 14.3 (2), 23.2 (2) and 61.2 (2)°.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Ru(C7H6N4)3](PF6)2·3H2O, a novel RuII complex with the bidentate ligand 2-(1H-imidazol-2-yl)pyrimidine, comprises a complex cation in the meridional form exclusively, with a distorted octa-hedral geometry about the ruthenium(II) cation. The Ru-N bonds involving imidazole N atoms are comparatively shorter than the Ru-N bonds from pyrimidine because of the stronger basicity of the imidazole moiety. The three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network involves all species in the lattice with water mol-ecules inter-acting with both counter-ions and NH hydrogen atoms from the complex. The supra-molecular structure of the crystal also shows that two units of the complex bind strongly through a mutual N-H⋯N bond. The electronic absorption spectrum of the complex displays an asymmetric band at 421 nm, which might point to the presence of two metal-to-ligand charge-transfer (MLCT) bands. Electrochemical measurements show a quasi-reversible peak referring to the RuIII/RuII reduction at 0.87 V versus Ag/AgCl.

Project description:The title compound, {[Zn2(CH3CO2)3(OH)(C6H7ClN2)]·C2H5OH} n , has alternating octa-hedrally and tetra-hedrally coordinated Zn(2+) ions. The octa-hedral coordination sphere is composed of one N atom of the monodentate di-amino-chloro-benzene ligand, three acetate O atoms and two bridging hydroxide ligands. The tetra-hedral coordination sphere consists of three acetate O atoms and the hydroxide ligand. The zinc ions are bridged by acetate and hydroxide ligands. The result is a laddered-chain structure parallel to [100] with ethanol solvent mol-ecules occupying the space between the chains. The di-amine ligand chlorine substitutent is disordered over two equally populated positions as a result of a crystallographically imposed inversion center between adjacent ligands. The ethanol solvent mol-ecule exhibits disorder with the two components having refined occupancies of 0.696 (11) and 0.304 (11). O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form between the hydroxide ligand and the ethanol solvent mol-ecule. N-H⋯O and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonding between the uncoordinated amine group and the acetate ligands and the coordinated amine group are also observed.
