ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Nb₆Cl₁₂I₂(H₂O)₄]·8THF (THF is tetra-hydro-furan, C₄H₈O), comprises an uncharged niobium cluster unit surrounded by THF solvent mol-ecules. The edges of the {Nb₆} octa-hedron are μ ₂-coordinated by twelve chlorido ligands. Four in-plane (equatorial plane) aqua ligands and two iodido ligands coordinating above and below the plane are bound at the corners of the {Nb₆} atomic octa-hedron. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are formed between the aqua ligands and the THF solvent mol-ecules; one THF molecule is disordered over two positions with the major component having a site occupancy of 0.64 (2).

Project description:The crystal structure of the cluster complex [Nb6Cl12(H2O)6]I2 is described. The octahedral Nb6 cluster core is coordinated by twelve chlorido and six water ligands. The two iodide ions are not bonded to the cluster unit but are present in the crystal structure as the counter-anion to the cluster cation. The title compound, [Nb6Cl12(H2O)6]I2, consists of the niobium cluster cation [Nb6Cl12(H2O)6]2+ and two non-coordinating, charge-balancing iodide ions. The edges of the Nb6 octahedron are bridged by chlorido ligands. Each Nb atom is further coordinated by a water ligand. The cluster cation has a charge of +2, which is balanced by that of two iodide anions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Ir2Cl4(C12H19)2], a versatile starting material for the preparation of uniquely substituted penta-alkyl-cyclo-penta-dien-yl-iridium complexes, consists of an iridium(III) atom, a substituted cyclo-penta-dienyl ligand and two chlorine ligands. The full dimer is generated by an inversion center. In the dimer, the two Ir(III) atoms and two bridging Cl atoms form a perfectly planar ring. The two Ir(III) atoms and the two terminal Cl atoms also form a rigorous plane that is orthogonal [89.48 (3)°] to the Ir2Cl2 ring. The plane of the cyclo-penta-dienyl ligand forms a dihedral angle of 54.06 (7)° with respect to the Ir2Cl2 ring.

Project description:In the structure of the binuclear title compound, [Cd2(C6H13N2)2Cl6], two Cd(II) atoms are bridged by two Cl(-) ligands, defining a centrosymmetric Cd2Cl2 motif. Each metal cation is additionally coordinated by two Cl(-) ligands and the N atom of a protonated 1,4-di-aza-bicyclo-[2.2.2]octane (H-DABCO)(+) ligand, leading to an overall trigonal-bipyramidal coordination environment with one of the bridging Cl(-) ligands and the N atom at the apical sites. Project description:In the title solvate, [Cu4(μ2-Cl)6(μ4-O)(C4H9NO)4]·2CH3OH, each Cu(2+) ion in the tetra-nuclear complex has a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination arising from three bridging chloride ions in equatorial positions and the central μ4-O(2-) ion and morpholine N atom in axial positions. Project description:The title compound is a xenophilic transition-metal cluster with short iron–manganese bonds of 2.6274 (10) and 2.6294 (10) Å. The complex forms a polymeric (two-dimensional) structure through isocarbonyl linkages between the sodium cations and the Fe(CO)4 fragments of the cluster. The reaction of Na2Fe(CO)4 with an excess of MnCl2 in tetrahydrofuran (THF) produced {Fe2Mn(C4H8O)2Na2(C4H8O)5(CO)8]n or C36H56Fe2MnNa2O15. The compound is a xenophilic dianion with short iron–manganese bond lengths of 2.6274 (10) and 2.6294 (10) Å. The sodium cations of the dianion are coordinated to THF ligands and have isocarbonyl interactions forming a polymeric (two-dimensional) structure in the crystal. One of the THF molecules was modeled with the carbon atoms being statistically disordered.

The O⋯O donor–acceptor distances for this hydrogen bonding are 2.7729 (15) and 2.7447 (15) Å. The three-ring backbone of the phenoxazine bends out of planarity by 18.92 (3)°, as computed using mean planes that encompass each half of the three-ring structure, with the central N and O atoms forming the line of flexion. In the crystal, a π–π stacking arrangement exists between inversion-related molecules, with a centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.6355 (11) Å. In the disordered tetrahydrofuran solvate, all atoms except oxygen were modeled over two positions, with occupancies of 0.511 (8) and 0.489 (8).
