trans-Carbonyl-chlorido-bis-(tri-ethyl-phosphane-κP)platinum(II) tetra-fluorido-borate.

ABSTRACT: The chemical formulation of the title compound was established as trans-[PtCl{P(C₂H₅)₃(CO)}BF₄ by single-crystal X-ray analysis, in contrast to the five-coordinate tetra-fluoro-ethyl-ene complex that had been anti-cipated. The compound had been prepared by reaction of trans-PtHCl(P(C₂H₅)₃)₂ with C₂F₄ in the absence of air, and the presence of the carbonyl group was not suspected. The square-planar cations and BF₄ ^- anions are linked by C-H⋯F and C-H⋯O inter-actions into thick wavy (010) sheets. The present crystal-structure refinement is based on the original intensity data recorded in 1967.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title compound, [PtH2(C6H18N3P)2], has a centrosymmetric square-planar structure in which the Pt(II) atom is bonded to two H and two P atoms in a mutually trans configuration. The Pt(II) atom sits on an inversion center and thus the asymmetric unit contains only half the mol-ecule. The Pt-P and Pt-H distances are 2.2574 (10) and 1.49 (7) Å, respectively.

Project description:In the title compound, [PtCl2(C21H21O3P)2]·2C3H6O, the asymmetric unit contains a Pt(II) ion situated on an inversion center, one chloride anion, one tris-(4-meth-oxy-lphen-yl)phosphane (L) ligand and one acetone solvent mol-ecule. The Pt(II) ion is coordinated by two P atoms [Pt-P = 2.3196 (5) Å] from two L ligands and two chloride anions [Pt-Cl = 2.3075 (5) Å] in a distorted square-planar geometry with P-Pt-Cl angles of 88.016 (16) and 91.984 (16)°. The effective cone angle of the phosphane ligand was calculated to be 156°. Weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds hold mol-ecules together.

Project description:The title compound, [PtCl(2)(C(21)H(33)P)(2)]·C(3)H(6)O, crystallizes with an accompanying acetone solvent mol-ecule. The metal atom shows a distorted square-planar coordination environment, with a P-Pt-P angle of 172.41 (3)° as the most prominent feature. Both isopropyl fragments were treated as disordered over two conformations with occupancy ratios of 0.55 (2):0.45 (2) and 0.58 (2):0.42 (2). The solvent mol-ecule was also disordered over two orientations in a 1:1 ratio. The crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin with a twin component of 32.4%.

Important geometric parameters are the Pt-P and Pt-Cl bond lengths of 2.3258 (6) and 2.3106 (6) Å, respectively, and the P-Pt-Cl angles of 89.64 (2) and 90.36 (2)°. The effective cone angle for the dicyclo-hex-yl[4-(dimethyl-amino)-phen-yl]phosphane unit was calculated to be 164°. The compound crystallizes with two dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecules; one of which is severely disordered and was treated using the SQUEEZE routine in PLATON [Spek (2009 ▶). Acta Cryst. Project description:In the title complex, trans-[PtCl(2)(C(9)H(7)N)(2)], the Pt(II) ion is four-coordinated in an essentially square-planar coordination environment defined by two N atoms from two quinoline (qu) ligands and two Cl(-) anions. The Pt atom is located on an inversion centre and thus the asymmetric unit contains one half of the complex; the PtN(2)Cl(2) unit is exactly planar. The dihedral angle between the PtN(2)Cl(2) unit and the quinoline ligand is 85.1 (1)°. In the crystal, the complex mol-ecules are stacked into columns along the b axis. In the columns, several inter-molecular π-π inter-actions between the six-membered rings are present, the shortest ring centroid-centroid distance being 3.733 (5) Å between pyridine rings.

Project description:In the title complex, [PdBr(C(4)H(3)N(2))(C(18)H(15)P)(2)], the geometry around the Pd(II) atom is distorted square-planar with the Pd(II) atom displaced by 0.0150 (5) Å from the least-squares BrP(2)C plane. Two PPh(3) ligands are in trans positions [P-Pd-P = 176.743 (17)°], while the pyrimidinyl ligand and Br atom are trans to one another [C-Pd-Br = 176.56 (5)°]. Structural parameters from NMR, IR and mass spectra are in agreement with the crystal structure of the title compound.
