ABSTRACT: The title complex, [Zn(C₂H₈N₂)₃][ZnCl₄], exists as discrete ions. The [Zn(C₂H₈N₂)₃]²⁺ cation exhibits a distorted octa-hedral shape. In the [ZnCl₄]^2- anion, the Zn^II atom is in an almost regular tetra-hedral environment. The crystal packing is consolidated by N-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds.
