Di-μ-aqua-bis-[aqua-(2,2'-bi-pyridine)(4-nitro-benzoato)cobalt(II)] bis-(4-nitro-benzoate).

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Co₂(C₇H₄NO₄)₂(C₁₀H₈N₂)₂(H₂O)₄](C₇H₄NO₄)₂, consists of a centrosymmetric bimetallic complex charge-balanced by free 4-nitro-benzoate anions. The Co^II ion exhibits a distorted cis-CoN₂O₄ octa-hedral coordination environment and the Co⋯Co separation is 3.326 (2) Å. In the crystal, the dications and anions are linked by O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title complex, [CoNa(CO5P)(H2O)5]n, was obtained by reacting sodium phosphono-formate with cobalt nitrate. The complex contains cobalt(II) and sodium ions, which are bridged by the O atoms of two aqua ligands. The Co(II) ion is octahedrally coordinated by three phosphonoformato ligands (one bi- and the other monodentate) and by two O atoms from the bridging aqua ligands. The sodium cation is hexa-coordinated by six O atoms from four bridging and two terminal aqua ligands. The complex mol-ecules are linked to give a three-dimensional structure by phosphono-formate ligands bridging Co(II) atoms and water mol-ecules establishing cobalt-sodium bridges. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between the aqua ligands and all O atoms of the phosphono-formato ligand and neighbouring aqua ligands help to consolidate the packing.

Project description:The crystal structure of the centrosymmetric complex [Cu(terpy)2Cl2](OTF)2 consists of a CuII metal center in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry with π–π stacking interactions contributing to the crystal packing. In the centrosymmetric title complex, [Cu2Cl2(C15H11N3)2](CF3O3S)2, the CuII metal center is fivefold coordinated by two chloride ions and three nitrogen atoms of the terpyridine ligand in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry; two trifluoromethanesulfonate ions complete the outer coordination sphere. π–π stacking interactions between the pyridyl rings in adjacent molecules contribute to the alignment of the complexes in columns along the a-axis. This structure represents the first example of a binuclear dication of formula [Cu(terpy)2Cl2]2+ with trifluoromethanesulfonate as counter-ions.

Project description:In the title complex, [CoK(2)(C(3)H(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)](n), the Co atom is located on a position with site symmetry 2/m, the K atom and one water mol-ecule are located on a mirror plane, and the malonate and one water mol-ecule are located on a twofold rotation axis. The K(I) atom is seven-coordinated by four carboxyl-ate O atoms from four malonate ligands and by three water O atoms, forming a distorted polyhedron. The Co(II) atom is in an almost octa-hedral environment formed by four carboxyl-ate O atoms from two malonate ligands and two water O atoms. The structure consists of layers parallel to (20[Formula: see text]) built up from edge-sharing KO(7) and CoO(6) polyhedra, which are connected by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding including water mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(2)(C(2)H(3)O(2))(4)(C(7)H(6)N(2))(4)(H(2)O)], the half-mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit is completed by a crystallographic twofold rotation axis to give the full mol-ecule. The Co(II) ions are approximately octahedrally coordinated with a cis-N(2)O(4) coordination sphere. The compound features intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the non-bridging acetate groups and the bridging water mol-ecule, and inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the acetates and amine H atoms of the benzimidazoles which determine the mol-ecular packing in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Co(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)](n), there are two symmetry-independent one-dimensional coordination polymers, which are approximately related by noncrystallographic inversion symmetry. Each zigzag chain is constructed from one Co(II) ion, one O-monodentate 5-nitro-isophthalate (ndc) dianion, one N,N'-bidentate 2,2'-bipyridyl ligand and one water mol-ecule. A symmetry-generated O,O'-bidentate ndc dianion completes the cobalt coordination environment, which could be described as very distorted cis-CoN(2)O(4) octa-hedral. The bridging ndc ligands result in parallel chains running along the a direction, and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds arising from the water mol-ecules complete the structure.
