ABSTRACT: In the crystal of the title organic salt, the cation and the anion are connected via bifurcated N—H⋯(O,O) hydrogen bonds, forming a centrosymmetric 2:1 unit of the cation and anion. The units are further linked by O—H⋯O and N—H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. In the crystal of the title mol­ecular salt {systematic name: bis­[2-(2-hy­droxy­phen­yl)-1H-benzimidazol-3-ium] 2,5-di­chloro-3,6-dioxo­cyclo­hexa-1,4-diene-1,4-diolate}, 2C13H11N2O+·C6Cl2O42−, the chloranilate anion is located on an inversion centre, so that the asymmetric unit contains one cation and one half of the chloranilate anion.
