Pyrazine-2(1H)-thione

ABSTRACT: In the crystal, the mol­ecules are linked by N—H⋯N and C—H⋯S hydrogen bonds. The title compound, C4H4N2S, was obtained by the reduction of 2-mercapto­pyrazine (during its crystallization with 2-mercapto­pyrazine and isonicotinic acid N-oxide in ethanol solution. It crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/m. In the crystal, the mol­ecules are linked by N—H⋯N and C—H⋯S hydrogen bonds.
