World carbon pricing database: sources and methods.

ABSTRACT: This note describes the sources and methods used to construct the World Carbon Pricing Database (WCPD). This database contains a harmonized record of the sectoral coverage and prices associated with carbon pricing mechanisms implemented worldwide at the national and subnational levels over the period 1990-2020. The dataset follows IPCC 2006 sectoral disaggregation, which allows for a straightforward integration with other datasets following the same structure.
