Peptidylarginine deiminase 4 (PAD4), a Ca<sup>2+</sup>-dependent enzyme, catalyzes the conversion of arginine to citrulline and has been strongly associated with many malignant tumors. However, the molecular mechanisms of PAD4 in the development and progression of colorectal cancer (CRC) remain unclearly defined.
