Self-fused concatenation of interferon with enhanced bioactivity, pharmacokinetics and antitumor efficacy.

ABSTRACT: We report an easy but universal protein modification approach, self-fused concatenation (SEC), to biosynthesize a set of interferon (IFN) concatemers with improved in vitro bioactivity, in vivo pharmacokinetics and therapeutic efficacy over the monomeric IFN, and the results can be positively enhanced by the concatenated number of self-fused proteins.
