Chromosome and Plasmid Sequences of Pantoea sp. Strain SOD02 Isolated from an Urban Freshwater Stream.

ABSTRACT: After isolating Pantoea sp. strain SOD02 from an urban freshwater stream in Providence, RI, we used PacBio RSII data for de novo assembly and Illumina MiSeq data for polishing. This yielded complete circular sequences for a 4,227,027-bp chromosome with 54.7% GC and a 926,844-bp plasmid with 54.0% GC.

Project description:Here, we present the total genome sequence of Pantoea sp. strain paga, a plant-associated bacterium isolated from knots present on olive trees grown on the Adriatic Coast. The genome size of Pantoea sp. paga is 5.08 Mb, with a G+C content of 54%. The genome contains 4,776 predicted coding DNA sequences (CDSs), including 70 tRNA genes and 1 ribosomal operon. Obtained genome sequence data will provide insight on the physiology, ecology, and evolution of Pantoea spp.

Project description:Blastomonas is a strictly aerobic bacteriochlorophyll a-producing genus within the alpha-4 Proteobacteria. Here we report the first genome sequence from this genus. The draft genome of Blastomonas sp. strain AAP53 contains a split photosynthesis gene cluster and two gene clusters encoding a flagellar system. Genes for the autotrophic CO2 fixation pathway are absent.

The final complete genome assembly consists of one circular chromosome (2,748,925 bp) with an overall GC content of 32.9% and one circular plasmid sequence (24,655 bp) with a GC content of 28.7%.
