Draft Genome Sequences of the Kocuria subflava Type Strain KCTC 39547 and Kocuria sp. Strain JC486, a Newly Isolated Strain from a Wild Ass Sanctuary in Gujarat, India.

ABSTRACT: Here, we report a 2.86-Mbp genome sequence of Kocuria sp. strain JC486, which was isolated from a salt marsh, and a 3.03-Mbp sequence of the type strain Kocuria subflava KCTC 39547. Prediction from their genomes indicates that both strains are nonpathogenic.

Project description:We report Metagenome from the saline desert soil sample of Little Rann of Kutch, Gujarat State, India. Metagenome consisted of 633,760 sequences with size 141,307,202 bp and 56% G + C content. Metagenome sequence data are available at EBI under EBI Metagenomics database with accession no. ERP005612. Community metagenomics revealed total 1802 species belonged to 43 different phyla with dominating Marinobacter (48.7%) and Halobacterium (4.6%) genus in bacterial and archaeal domain respectively. Remarkably, 18.2% sequences in a poorly characterized group and 4% gene for various stress responses along with versatile presence of commercial enzyme were evident in a functional metagenome analysis.

The draft genome sequences of S7-3-3T (7,239,915 bp; G+C content, 50.6%) and 15J9-4T (7,551,610 bp; G+C content, 47.3%) are reported.

Project description:Longimonas halophila and Longibacter salinarum are type strains of underexplored genera affiliated with Salisaetaceae Herein, we report the draft genome sequences of two strains of these bacteria, L. halophila KCTC 42399 and L. salinarum KCTC 52045, with the intent of broadening knowledge of this family. Genome annotation and gene mining revealed that both bacteria exhibit amylolytic abilities.

Project description:Weissella koreensis is a Gram-positive, rod-shaped, nonmotile, and facultative anaerobic species belonging to the lactic acid bacteria (LAB). The members of this species have been repeatedly isolated from kimchi (a traditional Korean fermented food) and are known for their beneficial effects on human and animal intestinal microflora through producing various clinically important amino acids such as ?-aminobutyric acid and ornithine. Here, we report three new and distinct WSSV genome sequences, two from shrimp (P. vannamei) farmed on the west coast of India and the third from the east coast.
