ABSTRACT: Robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) is the most adopted treatment for localized prostate cancer. The aim of this study was to explore the learning curves (LC) for overall and site-specific positive surgical margins (PSM) occurrence after RARP of multiple surgeons within a step-structured mentor-initiated training program. The study included consecutive patients undergoing RARP between January 2013 and March 2020, by three surgeons: a mentor and his two trainees. Prospectively collected patients' data were retrospectively analyzed. The cumulative summation (CUSUM) method was used to generate the LCs, with turning points indicating the number of cases to reach proficiency levels.
